This policy explains what data Untapper collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. It applies to the Untapper Chrome extension and desktop application.

1. Data we collect

Untapper collects publicly available creator data from Instagram and TikTok profiles, including:

Follower and following counts
Post view counts, likes, comments, and shares
Bio text and profile links
Posting frequency and engagement metrics

This information is visible to anyone who visits the creator's public profile.

2. Data stored on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

Your authentication session token
Cached analytics reports
Currency preferences and exchange rates

3. Data sent to our servers

When you analyze a creator, the publicly available metrics described in section 1 are sent to Untapper's servers so that:

You can access your creator database across devices
We can provide historical trend comparisons

We do not collect your browsing history, personal social media data, passwords, or any content from your private accounts.

4. Chrome extension permissions

The Untapper Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

Active Tab & Scripting - to read publicly visible metrics from Instagram and TikTok profile pages you visit.
Storage - to cache reports and preferences locally on your device.
Tabs - to open background tabs for profile comparison features.
Host permissions - to communicate with Untapper's API and to detect creator profiles on pages you visit.

5. No tracking or advertising

Untapper does not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Third-party AI services

If you use AI-assisted features, requests are sent directly from your device to the AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter) using your own API key. We never see, store, or have access to your API keys.

7. Data retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Cached data on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the extension or application.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Untapper after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
